Emily Page is a UK-based photographic artist who takes a fine art documentary approach to her photography, recently focusing on the body and its surface. With an interest in tactility and materiality, her work has explored varying types of printing and materials, often creating abstract and interpretive outcomes, transitioning into a more documentary approach.
Page’s previous body of work ‘Veils’ focuses on the nature of skin and how it changes when we age. Currently, Page is investigating the connection between women and their experiences with water. Linking with her own relationship with cold water swimming, she is interacting with different groups of women across the UK, exploring their personal experiences and the sense of community relating to the water. The female experience, both her own and that of other women, is a key concept which runs through Page’s practice.
Page has exhibited in multiple collective exhibitions in Bournemouth, both at The Avenue and the Bournemouth Arts Depot, with upcoming shows at The Gallery in Bournemouth and Copeland Gallery in London. Exhibition spaces are a key interest for Page, with her wanting to take her passion for photography further by exploring curation as a career.
